RUBICON NEWS

Mental health isn’t one size fits all and at Rubicon Leisure we recognise that wellbeing looks different for everyone.   Whether it’s being active, spending time outdoors, enjoying creativity or connecting with others, our facilities offer many ways to support positive mental wellbeing.

At the Abbey Stadium we’re proud to offer a welcoming, inclusive environment where people of all abilities can move in ways that suit them. From outdoor track sessions and gym workouts to group exercise classes and gentle swims, we support all those movements that can positively impact our mental health.  Here, we see first-hand the positive impact staying active can have on mental wellbeing.

Spending time outdoors can also have a positive impact on our mood, stress levels and overall wellbeing. At Pitcheroak Golf Course, players can enjoy the fresh air, gentle exercise and a quieter pace. Perhaps a place to switch off from daily pressures.

Nearby Arrow Valley Country Park and The Boathouse provide peaceful natural spaces to relax, socialise, connect with nature or enjoy time on the water. Enjoyed even more with a cuppa and cake, of course!

Creativity and shared experiences also play an important role.  At the Palace Theatre, live performances bring people together, while our community centres and Forge Mill Needle Museum offer welcoming spaces to learn, connect and feel part of the community.

Supported by our trained Mental Health First Aiders, Rubicon Leisure is proud to support our community’s mental wellbeing in many different ways.

Have a break…have a Cake Break!

Rubicon Leisure is inviting the local community to a Cake Break at Winyates Green Community Centre.

The morning will offer a selection of cakes, hot drinks and the chance to enjoy good company, while raising vital funds for the MS Society. Whether you’re stopping by for a quick slice or staying for a chat, every cup of tea and piece of cake will help support people living with multiple sclerosis.

Everyone is welcome, and the event promises a friendly, relaxed atmosphere in support of a great cause.

Rubicon Leisure has four community centres, each serving as a hub for local engagement and connection, where you can enjoy a host of activities and clubs.

Into the Woods – Palace Youth Theatre

For more than 50 years, Palace Youth Theatre has given young people in Redditch the opportunity to build confidence, creativity and a strong sense of belonging, all within the historic surroundings of the Palace Theatre Redditch. Rehearsing in dedicated studio spaces and on the main stage itself, members gain valuable experience in a professional theatre environment that shows them they truly belong there.

This summer, that journey continues as they bring Into the Woods to the Palace Theatre stage. The much‑loved musical intertwines familiar fairy tales and showcases the talent, commitment and imagination of the young performers, who have worked hard to make the production their own.

More than a performance, Into the Woods is a celebration of youth creativity and the positive impact of local arts opportunities.

Audiences are invited to enjoy a magical night at the theatre and show their support for this exciting production.
